About Brownfield

Michigan’s Brownfield is designed to encourage and assist developers who want to return property to productive use more quickly and at a lower cost than before, while still protecting human health and natural resources. The City of Dearborn Heights has completed two major projects under the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority; the Simply Self Storage facility on Ann Arbor Trail (W. of Telegraph Rd.), and Walgreen’s on the Northeast corner of Telegraph and Van Born. A brand new Walgreens has also been constructed on the NE corner of Ford and Beech Daly Road to construct a brand new Walgreens. Unlike the TIFA District, Brownfield extends it's coverage throughout the entire City of Dearborn Heights.
