DEARBORN, MI (5/14/15) – At the invitation of the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce, TIFA Assistant Administrator Tom Rosco spoke to students of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Thursday, May 7.
Mr. Rosco offered a brief presentation on ways that government entities at the federal, state and local level help small businesses. He focused on several programs common to communities in the State of Michigan, and also offered examples of how government can indirectly affect economic growth through its policies and programs.
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is a year-long program, functioning in several cities across the country, that teaches middle and high school students how to start and run their own real businesses. The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce has introduced the program locally with the cooperation and support of various local educational and business institutions.
