DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI (4/29/25) – The City of Dearborn Heights Department of Public Works headquarters located on Van Born Road in the TIFA District recently received a much needed facilities upgrade.
Thanks to funding from TIFA, the old asbestos flooring tiles located throughout the office area were removed, abated and replaced thanks to funding from the Dearborn Heights Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA). New vinyl flooring was installed to replace the former materials, thus improving workplace safety for employees and the public.
Originally installed when the building was first built decades ago, the old tiles were coming loose and breaking throughout the facility… not only posing a trip hazard, but also a potential health risk due to the composition of the materials.
The DPW headquarters is located at 24600 Van Born Road, just West of Telegraph Road.
