DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI (10/21/15) – The Donovan VFW Post 78, located on Van Bord Road just East of Beech Daly Road, is in danger of closing its doors forever. Thanks to a recent break-in and theft, the group has found itself behind in utilities payments.

At over 101 years old, this VFW post is the oldest in the State of Michigan. In addition to being a place for veterans to gather, the post serves as a location for community events. Members are also active throughout the year donating to schools, needy children, veterans, and the homeless, as well as leading educational programs about veterans issues for both children and adults.
Those who are willing and able to help with a monetary donation are asked to go to a GoFundMe page [CLICK HERE] that has been set up for the group. No donation is too small. Every bit is greatly appreciated by our deserving veterans.
More information about the group and their hall rentals can be found on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/VfwPost78.
UPDATE
The Donovan Post will hold an All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner and Karaoke event fundraiser on Friday, April 22, 2016, beginning at 6:00pm in the lounge. The cost is $5 per person (you can pay at the door).
Your support can help our veterans keep their doors open!
