DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI (12/10/18) – Earlier this year, the Dearborn Heights Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA) approved funding for safety enhancement at two schools in the Westwood Community School District.
At Robichaud High School, funding of over $15,000 was approved to invest in a new security camera system, while over $7,000 was approved to be spent at Thorne Elementary School on a new door security system. These enhancements were long overdue and have greatly added to the safety of those facilities.
“We greatly appreciate the TIFA Board’s commitment to assisting the District with security enhancements for our buildings. It is through the caring and generous nature of community organizations, such as yours, that many of our accomplishments have been achieved,” stated outgoing Superintendent Sue Carnell in her letter of thanks to the TIFA Board.
Since its founding, TIFA has contributed millions of dollars to Westwood Schools for various projects, primarily enhancement of facilities located within the TIFA District.
