DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI (7/8/26) – The firefighters stationed at Fire Station #1, located at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Annapolis Street in the TIFA District, recently received a much needed upgrade to their living conditions thanks to funding from the Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA).
Recently, the TIFA Board approved funding to cover the cost of replacing the 6 twin size mattresses and box springs located in the bunk room. The previous mattresses were 8-10 years old, while the box springs were 27 years old… all of which were worn out and in need of replacement. As part of the purchase, mattress protectors and sets of sheets were also included.
Other projects at Fire Station #1 made possible over the years by the Dearborn Heights TIFA include building upgrades and various equipment purchases.
