DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI (8/26/26) – Thanks to a contribution from the Dearborn Heights Tax Increment Finance Authority (TIFA), the Dearborn Heights Police Department now has two (2) drones at their disposal to aid them in their work keeping our citizens safe.
Funding approved by the TIFA Board was used for the installation of docking units installed at the Police Station/Justice Center and Fire Station #1, both of which are located within the TIFA District. Utilizing this new technology, our police will now have the ability to be “on the scene” of an incident within seconds of receiving a call for assistance in our city. These drones are the first ones deployed by our city’s police department.
Since its inception 40 years ago, the Dearborn Heights TIFA has covered the cost of numerous improvements to the Justice Center and Fire Station #1.
